Fuck the Jante law

Kristian Hornsleth's work "Fuck Janteloven" is a powerful provocation against the Scandinavian social norms embedded in the Janteloven – a mentality that aims to keep people modest and uniform. The work has a large, dominant dollar sign as a background motif, symbolizing capitalism, individualism and personal success. This stands in sharp contrast to the Janteloven's suppression of individuality and ambition.

Since its launch in 2007, the work has been one of Hornsleth's most popular posters, precisely because it both visually and conceptually challenges the viewer to break free from the collective control of the Jante law and celebrate personal freedom and financial success.
