BLACK PUS*Y

This art poster is a reproduction of the Danish artist Kristian von Hornsleth’s original painting called “BLACK PUS*Y.

A classical Hornsleth art poster showing an old colonial pictures of a black woman, with the provocative words BLACK PUS*Y written over it in red letters. By using these strong words Hornsleth wants to bring focus on the sexual  injustice and often terrible lives these black slave women were put through, by their white masters. Luckily slavery was abolished in 1865 with the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

But  even today, the black community is still suffering from white dominance especially in the US, like  in the recent disturbing case about police violence against George Floyd, which has resulted in riots and chaos in many american cities, and this has even spread to cities all over  the world (fx.in London). But today suppression of black/colored  people also happens on a more economical level, because most colored people only get access to low income jobs, which have spread poverty in most afro american communities, and at the same time there is a huge lack of basic level school education in black communities in the US  today, which makes the economic gap even wider.
