Do you feel big love in your life?

Hornsleth often use collage techniques and advertisement connotations in his paintings. Here he makes use of a black and white version of a movie poster featuring a warrior Jake Gyllenhaal looking back.

The relation between image and text is a comment on the ever present advertising around our society. We are all exposed to an eternal flow of commands and suggestions to buy stuff we don't need. So this art work tries to turn this process around and advertise for 'big love' with a little help from the movie poster.

This way Hornsleth uses the debris of cultural information to produce a poetic and subjective case for the art lovers and their own relation to love. At the same time he comments on the pressure on all of us from the capitalistic corporate cultural industry  with humour and satire.
